Manager, Systems Administration

We currently are seeking a dynamic, strategic and innovative Manager, Systems Administration. This key position will be based in our corporate facilities in Northridge (Southern CA).
As Manager, Systems Administration, you will be responsible for the following activities:
·        Achieves results and brings out the best in people by:
o Establishing job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department’s strategic operating plan and short-term objectives.
o Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives.
o Maintaining two way dialogue with direct reports on work and results.
o Interpreting and ensuring Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others.
o Collaboratively creating development plans and coaching individuals in achieving them.
o Working within the people management systems in the Company to develop others (performance management, rewards and selection process); and
o Creating an energizing work environment that supports the Company’s high performance culture while ensuring an efficient and flexible organization.
·        Manages and plans the activities of assigned staff, service providers and/or user personnel in support of Windows servers at all locations (including DNS, file/print servers, storage, domain controllers, production applications, virtualization, high availability, and Disaster Recovery).
·        Manages and plans the activities of assigned staff, service providers and/or user personnel in support of CISCO and other network related devices at all locations (including voice, data, local area network, wide area network, high availability, and Disaster Recovery).
·        Manages and plans the activities of assigned staff, service providers and/or user personnel in support of IT Facilities (including computer room environmental, layout, moves, adds, and changes).
·        Responsible for all departmental systems management including job scheduling, backup and recovery, security administration, report management, patch management, capacity planning, alert notifications, user administration, and operational support.
·        Responsible for all departmental administrative functions including project management, change management, problem management, resource allocation, vendor management, budget management, and preparation of capital expenditure requests.
·        Partners with the other IT teams to define and maintain IT architectural and hardware/ software standards.
·        Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.
·        Generates periodic performance and capacity planning reports for all areas of responsibility.
     Education:
AÂ four year college or university degree or its equivalent in an computer science is strongly preferred.Â
Â
Experience:
Requires minimum of 5 years experience in the management, development and support of systems in client-server, mid-range and/or enterprise server environments. Also including a mminimum of 3-5 years technical experience supporting Windows server platforms, LANs, WANs, replication software, and virtualization software such as VMWare.
Experience must include the ability to attract, motivate and direct professional technical and line operating personnel.
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Requires:
·        Comprehensive knowledge of the technical systems implementation life cycle, hardware/telecommunications/network/personal computer analysis, procurement and installation, file access methods, system utilities, development tools, system software packages and software packages used to monitor and support technical systems.
·        Thorough understanding of Windows/NT Systems administration, Lotus Notes administration, and all Microsoft Office products.Â
·        Strong CISCO switch understanding, with SQL, DNS, and WINS administration in a large environment.Â
·        Requires multi-tasking and organizational skills, as well as stress management skills.
·        Expertise in large-scale project management.
·        Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of the organization (including IT professionals).
Must be on-call and available on a 24/7 basisRequires more than 8 years experience in a maintenance and/or engineering related discipline
