Primary responsibilities and duties for this position involve:-Decoding and analyzing MPEG transport streams.-Working with and developing MPEG CODEC based client and server solutions including H.264.-Interpreting and enhancing existing systems for new features and performance improvements.-Developing support for new encryption methods.-Working with QA to track problems, debug, regression test and close.Qualifications-Bachelor's degree (or Associate degree + relevant experience) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering highly desirable.-At least 3 or more years of software development experience primarily related to MPEG technologies or related CODECS.
-Solid, demonstrable knowledge of MPEG, especially MPEG-2 transport, video, and H.264 standards.
- Strong C and C++ programming skills with development on Linux/Unix along with assembly language knowledge (386/MMX/SSE, MIPS).
-Passion for tweaking and tuning algorithms for optimal speed and performance.-Familiarity with various video encryption schemes is a plus.
-Experience with embedded systems development is a plus.-Understanding of IPTV related technologies, Set Top Boxes, and decoder issues are a plus. -Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team along with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
