DescriptionLinux Administration Team Lead (St. Louis, MO) is responsible for the design, configuration, management, and support of all distributed systems' Linux/Unix servers, including all related hardware, middleware, and software, which provides services to all Scottrade employees and customers. This position provides technical expertise in support of all business and I.T. sponsored projects, and provides direction and mentoring to Linux Administrators, including scheduling, performance evaluations, expectations, and similar functions. Key Performance Indicators include Customer Satisfaction, Problem Resolution Rate, and Project Deliverable Success Rate. This position must possess a strong work ethic and be able to effectively multi-task in a fast paced support environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to easily and effectively interact with technical, non-technical, support, and business staff at all levels is necessary. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide advanced technical engineering, monitoring and support for Linux/Unix server hardware, middleware, and software. Provide technical expertise and perform tasks for all related infrastructure projects, including business continuity and disaster recovery. Provide 24x7 support of the Linux/Unix server infrastructure environments. Provide day to day support and guidance to Linux Administrator associates, including scheduling, performance evaluations, goal setting, and technical mentoring. Work closely with business and I.T. associates, and outside vendors to effectively plan, deploy, and maintain the Linux/Unix server infrastructure environment additions and changes. Basic level proficiency with HTML programming language Basic level proficiency working with API's- JMS, COM and Sockets Basic level proficiency with CVS Basic level skills and experience in host configuration and support of EMC SAN. Basic level skills and experience with installing and supporting databases (e.g. Postgres, Oracle). Intermediate level proficiency with Visio Intermediate level proficiency with PIX and Linux Firewalls] Intermediate level skills and experience with Clustering (e.g. Lustre). Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project. Expert level proficiency working with TCP/IP Protocol Expert level skills and experience in configuration, administration, and support of JBOSS and Apache. Expert level skills and experience with Kernel customization. Expert level skills and experience with Linux security practices and implementations (e.g. Tripwire, Snort). Expert level skills and experience working with RedHat. Expert level proficiency working with Linux, to include installation, troubleshooting and repair/replacement, including RAID technology Expert level skills and experience in Linux / Unix scripting, CRON, Bash, Perl, and SQLRequired Experience Bachelor degree or equivalent education and/or experience in MIS or Computer Science or related field.
