Licensing Manager

Purpose
The Licensing Manager position is a pivot role in the company’s operations, coordinating the efforts of Sales, Engineering, Legal, Product Marketing, and Finance groups to resolve issues, aid deal closure, and to optimize the quarterly revenue on each contract.

 

Key AccountabilitiesExplain Physical IP products, business models and pricing Generate Sales Proposals Generate technical addendums to contracts Review contracts to ensure they: Correctly capture customer requirementsDo not include revenue recognition complicationsAre agreed with and can be delivered by the Engineering groupMeet ARM’s standard business guidelines and will be approved by the directors Provide senior management with weekly revenue forecasts Drive issues to closure on items that span multiple disciplines or departments, or where there is no clear owner in any department Explain complex Engineering issues in terms that the Legal and Finance teams can easily understand Suggest improvements to ARM’s internal procedures, and follow through to implementation Implement procedures to simplify the Sale of Physical IP products



Essential Skills and Experience

Applicants should have some knowledge in all of the following areas with at least one area of deep expertise:The Semiconductor industry The Semiconductor IP business Knowledge of SoC design flow and semiconductor manufacturing processes and Physical IP (Standard cells, Memory compilers, I/O’s) Semiconductor Foundry business model and market Eco systemExperience with service business modelsAttention to detail



Applicants should also have:Excellent communication skills A thorough understanding of Word, PowerPoint and Excel An ability to grasp basic principles of Licensing and Accounting Leadership qualities to ensure contracts get through to closure A thorough understanding of technology IP business models Formal negotiation skills Sales or account management experience Marketing experience Experience with CRM and ERP systems

EducationMS or BS in Electronics, Mathematics or similar
