W2 ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS.Tempe, AZ7+ years experience Design for scalability; create data models and UML diagrams as-needed. With other senior developers, determine best technologies and framework(s) for the applications. Plan development iterations and schedules. Adhere to assigned project schedules. Coordinate activities with PM and other project developers. Manage development and test environment: installation, configuration, backup/recover & performance tuning. Coordinate and manage internal and customer integration testing. Optimize performance at web server, app server, or application levels. Coordinate with Operations for capacity planning, monitoring and diagnostics of production application. Participate in and contribute to internal training and review sessions. Qualifications for this position include: 7+ years’ software development experience 7+ years’ experience developing in Java for a Unix/Linux environment Experience building OO systems using a structured methodology; experience in iterative development preferred Experience delivering products and components for a Unix/Linux environment Experience with SOAP, XMLRPC Experience developing with open source frameworks such as Spring MVC Experience/knowledge with RDBMS – preferably MySQL Experience deploying applications to servlet containers such as Tomcat Experience with technologies such as single sign-on, web clustering, load balancing, fault tolerance, firewalls, proxy servers, etc. Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as HTTP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, sockets, UDP, DNS Knowledge of internal functioning of web infrastructure components such as web servers, web application servers, domain name servers, etc. Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 research and production environment.
