Information Security Specialist
Fenwick Technologies is a customer centric, innovative and dynamic company that provides, recruiting and staffing services, outsourced application development solutions for commercial and government clients. We are recruiting for a commercial client seeking to fill a staff position for an Information Security Specialist.
Position is for an IT professional who aids in the design and management of the organization’s security infrastructure. This includes choosing the network hardware and network operating systems, locking down those systems, and staying focused on possible weaknesses in those systems and hardening them as appropriate.
Analysis of security risks and requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of the Information Security and Compliance monitoring program.
Will perform network penetration tests, application vulnerability assessment scans, and risk assessment reviews.
Analyze security events.
Manage remediation processes.
Provide advisory service on all IT projects.
Monitor security event log data, and report suspicious activity.
Identify and understand potential threats, vulnerabilities, and recommend control techniques.
Investigate security breaches and report findings.
Work with IT engineers to design security controls into new infrastructure initiatives.
Support requests to provide forensic data in all sanctioned investigations.
Implementation and maintenance of the security infrastructure to protect the business from security breaches. This role has overlap with that of a network engineer but is higher level in that it is a more specialized role.
Aid in the development and implementation of global security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security.
Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, access control systems, video surveillance, and more.
Information protection responsibilities will include network security architecture, network access and monitoring policies.
Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits.
Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and routing, Cisco firewalls, Cisco Routers, Cisco Catalyst Switches, Windows server operating systems, encryption/authentication technologies, security services involving networks, and vulnerability assessments.
BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent experience. 4 years of experience in computing and information security. Cisco’s CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional) CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification
6 Month Contract to Hire.
