Job Category IT/Software Development Reference Code 3769512 IT Infrastructure Manager- Windows Systems This job contributes to Starbucks success by managing a department of information technology professionals to deliver infrastructure solutions and systems for all Starbucks facilities in North America and International locations. Provide technical expertise in planning, setting, and sustaining infrastructure standards and leading and participating in projects to deliver solutions to the business. Manage IT subject matter experts for all Windows Server technologies, including 900+ servers (450 physical, 450 virtual), and other Windows related systems for North America and International locations. Provide direction and leadership, organizational growth and development for the Windows/VMWare server engineering team. Plan and oversee the research, evaluation, and integration of emerging Windows server and virtualization technologies. Develop server infrastructure standards and assist in reviewing and approving compliance with server infrastructure policies and standards. Partner with the planning team to establish architecture and standard technology products in order to enable consistent, reusable and efficient practices within the IT function. Analyze business requirements (functional and technical requirements) by conducting information gathering sessions with customers, analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs. Determine all technical and resource components and associated costs for Windows server technology to ensure capacity and performance requirements are met. Establish market or communicate strategies for migration to and use of new/emerging Windows server technologies in order to ensure the Company benefits from innovation as needed. Research appropriate technology and product offerings. Provide technical evaluation of identified product offerings. Support operational transition of infrastructure solutions to operations team. Develop cost estimates for solutions as required. Vendor relationship management. Track and manage vendor SLAs. Ensure service and support contracts are in place. Summary of Experience Requirements:7+ years leading a highly skilled and diverse technical team of IT professionals, with a team size of 6-12. 7+ years of management experience in a large heterogeneous systems environment. 7+ years progressive experience leading standards management and solution development. 3+ years experience with virtualization technologies ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) or Microsoft Operations Framework experience desirable. Technical Experience: 7 years experience in managing Windows design, installation and support including hardware, O/S, software, and utilities Experience managing medium-to-large Windows server environments, including experience with Active Directory and other Microsoft technologies Experience managing VMWare and/or other server virtualization infrastructure 5 years experience negotiating vendor (hardware/software) contracts. A comprehensive knowledge of enterprise information technology infrastructure, including processes and procedures System engineering experience preferred Required skills and abilities: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing Ability to handle multiple tasks Ability to manage human, financial and material resources Ability to plan, organize and implement plans and programs Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment Ability to manage resolution of problems Ability to understand business processes and translate business needs into appropriate telecommunications solutions.
