Higher Education Account Executive

Proofpoint is looking for an experienced Higher Education Account Executive with at least five years of experience owning an individual quota or a team quota. The position is based at the Sunnyvale headquarters.

Responsibilities include:

Focus on increasing market share for Proofpoint products through outbound telephone prospecting within the education marketPlan, coordinate and deliver web based product demosConvert prospects into sales by differentiating from the competitionWork with System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plansPartner with the channel to drive incremental revenuePrepare activity and forecast reports as requestedMaintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint’s competitive positioning in the marketplaceMeet or exceed revenue quota

Requirements:Must have experience with state / local government bid process Ability to navigate complex org structures Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint’s value via the phone Must be organized, detail and process oriented Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to manage multiple tasks and use good judgment in resolving difficult issues Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web conferencing tools. Ability to use CRM and other on-line tools effectively BA/BS or equivalent preferred 5+ years successful Inside Sales experience, selling to Sr. IT Management is preferredProofpoint is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer
