Hardware Optical Engineer
Optical engineer with in-depth theoretical and practical (hands-on) understanding of advanced photonic devices. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Experience and in-depth understanding of lasers and electro-optical devices. In-depth understanding and experience in the design, fabrication, and testing of rings and quantum well devices in Silicon and/or III-V materials, and can participate in the design, analysis, and testing of these devices in Silicon and can work with Sun partners. The ideal candidate brings a knowledge of advanced optical devices as well as high-speed (microwave) electrical design issues associated with driving these devices with high-speed circuits.
