Hardware Design Engineer

Education Requirements:

 

Bachelors Degree (MS preferred) -- Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

 

Overview:

 

The Hardware Design Engineer will provide complete hardware design and support for other groups within SiliconSystems. These groups include software, firmware, application and testing.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 Hardware circuit designs based from inputs from other groups.Digital interfaces and solid state storage designs.Custom application specific designs, both analog and digital.Schematic entry. Must work with PCB layout engineer.Component validation and BOM generation on designs.Work with Applications Engineers to resolve technical issues.Develop initialization and testing platforms for all products.Complete responsibility for all aspects of hardware design.Prototype fabrication and current product modification.System debug, verification and validation of hardware designs.

Specific Qualifications:Minimum four (4) years of experience in digital hardware design.Analog background is a plus.Familiar with programmable logic is a plus.Experience in subsystem debugging of real-time embedded systems is a plus.Familiarity with high speed mass storage interfaces including ATA, Serial ATA, and USB are pluses.Strong hardware background in both implementation and verification.Experience in using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes required.Excellent debugging skills are a must.Must be comfortable with lab environment. Good lab skill required.
