Responsibilities: Perform mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting. Identify problems in non-functioning, electromechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process.About Our Client:This Company is the U.S.-based manufacturing subsidiary of a leading Japanese printing firm. Historically, Our Client manufactured printers. From its opening day in July of 1986 until August of 2001, Our Client built over 15 million dot matrix and ink jet printers for business, government and personal use. The Company currently manufactures ink cartridges for ink jet printers, blends ink for their ink cartridges, and performs precision injection molding of proprietary plastic parts. Their Technology Center, a Research and Design division with locations in San Jose, CA and Bellevue, WA, develops software and drivers for Our Client's products in the U.S. and European markets.This is a direct hire position through Volt Technical Resources- a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, located in Portland, Oregon. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Pacific Northwest. Requirements: Required Skills for this Equipment Technician position include the following: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues and perform general preventative maintenance checks, while communicating issues and proposing solutions. Demonstrated ability in utilizing PLC programs for troubleshooting. Can be calm under pressure with shifting priorities and responding to urgent projects and requests. Experience with test and diagnostic equipment, to perform equipment audits and maintenance; as well as inspection and analysis of defective parts, to determine necessary machine adjustments. Experience with documentation associated with mechanical projects (such as maintenance logs and trouble-ticket records for issues and resolutions, and recording spare part usage, communicating low inventory items to appropriate personnel. Experience supporting quality control and process improvement projects in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to lockout and tag out procedures with a commitment to safety as a first priority. Exposure to the maintenance of robotics and related pneumatic automated production equipment. Associate's degree preferred.
