Electronics Design Engineer 

 

Responsibilities: Design of circuit card assemblies including: DSP based design Microprocessor complex design: Flash, RAM, Reset circuits, etc. Precision voice band analog circuit design with op amps, A/D and D/A converters, discrete transistors, and various other analog ICs. Non-isolated point of load DC to DC converters design Design with photodiodes, variable optical attenuators, and other electro optical components. CPLD design Schematic Entry Guide PCB layout of Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-flex printed wiring boards. Translate Requirements into working electronic designs Develop test and evaluation boards Support production via test fixture development and troubleshooting Hardware debugging and functional test of circuit card assemblies Detailed performance test of electronic circuits Work with software engineers to support hardware bring-up and help debug software issues Work with mechanical engineers to estimate printed wiring board size, board outline, and thermal design Work with optical engineers to develop circuit requirements Carry out regulatory testing including EMC and ESD tests

 

Required Experience and Skills: At least 5 years of board level circuit design experience Demonstrated ability to design both analog and digital circuits Experience with DSP based design Experience with low to medium speed communication protocols (RS232, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, etc) Ability to communicate operational characteristics of the electronics to other team members Demonstrated ability to debug electronics using various test equipment Orcad schematic capture experience

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Experience VHDL language FPGA Development C language Control loop design Experience with electro optical devices Experience with telecom system design Experience with TI DSPs. Higher speed digital design involving controlled impedance considerations up to  1GHz  clock rates
