To us, today's technology is a springboard for tomorrow.  View location information to learn more about the area.  One of the benefits of working at John Deere is our comprehensive career development program.  Our employees' internal resumes are accessible on-line by managers and human resources, allowing them to match employee interests with company needs—in short, getting the right people in the right jobs, at the right time. John Deere Agriculture Equipment is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to design, modify and evaluate electronic products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals.  In this position, you will:  Produce and/or evaluate possible design solutions for electronic assemblies to improve cost, quality and performance based on electronic design knowledge of engineering applications together with the involvement of manufacturing, mechanical, software and other functional engineers, supply management and supplier personnel. Create, analyze, read and understand technical requirements written by others to determine the best technical solution for complex problems or projects of moderate scope. Compile and furnish necessary information to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. Provide technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations. Develop and/or execute test or analysis plan for product verification and validation. Education Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience. Required Skills & Experience 2+ years experience in electronic hardware design and development for power electronics applications.  1+ of those years in power electronics design for motor controls (Permanent Magnet, Induction, or Switched Reluctance). Desired Skills and Experience Design of embedded controls for power electronics. Experience with designing to harsh environmental specifications. Experience with power electronics design in a variety of DC voltage levels (up to 800 Vdc). Experience in power electronics design for DC-DC converters. System knowledge of hybrid vehicles. Experience and knowledge of testing, manufacturing, and quality control. Experience with engineering tools (Mathcad, PSPICE, PSIM, Simulink, etc.), systems and databases.
