The environment is fast paced, with multiple projects, feeding a strong commitment to drive and maintain E-Trade’s competitive ability in the market place. The candidate will be interacting with outside organizations driving solutions to technical and business demands of the projects and leading the team in the implementation of those solutions. Essential Job Functions:Lead a development team insuring the timely, functional, and quality delivery of the team’s commitments to the business. Guide and manage the organizational groups in the reporting structure to insure the achievement of the organization goals. Interact with project management and business analysts to understand the projects being proposed and managing the resources necessary for delivery of the commitments. Facilitated by a comprehensive architecture, identify, evaluate, and select technologies (frameworks, models, & tools) that will facilitate our technology direction. Managed by a defined set of processes, drive the integration of new technologies into the E*TRADE environment when and where appropriate. Minimum Professional and Technical Skills: Qualifications: 12+ years of technical experience in related fields (i.e., OO development methods) 4+ years of  development team management Excellent knowledge of the Internet, large scale transaction processing systems, or distributed processing. Demonstrated ability to think and adapt new solutions to solve technical and business problems. Strong design and planning skills. Strong leadership and influence skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Proven ability to collaborate with external organization in all phases of the project life cycle. Strong strategic and tactical skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Track record of learning and master new and diverse systems. Trading System Experience.· Understand Trading Environment and requirements including reporting and regulatory Skill Set Development Team Management Mentoring and development of teams technical skills  C++, Java, Object Oriented Design/Methodology, Perl. Strong Linux/UNIX background. Strong shell scripting. ESQL/ DB (Sybase, Oracle) skills. Service Oriented Architecture Sockets, Roguewave, Multithreaded Design.
