As a Development Engineering Technician at SEL, you will have the opportunity to test, troubleshoot, and design electronics circuits, embedded firmware, and PC software that serve in mission critical applications. Development Engineering Technician Responsibilities: Design test procedures and programs/scripts to perform automated tests of electronics circuit tests and firmware/software algorithms. Test electronic circuits and firmware/software algorithms to meet specifications and engineering requirements. Accomplish complex electronic circuits and firmware/software testing tasks that require complete knowledge of electronic circuits and firmware/software testing processes. Document, analyze, and communicate test results using written test reports, spreadsheets, databases, and CASE tools. Perform root cause analysis of failed equipment. Implement and assist with implementation electronic circuit and firmware/software designs. Follow and improve engineering quality assurance processes. Provide support as directed.Qualifications: Two year Electronics or Computer Technology Associates degree or equivalent experience Minimum of five years experience testing and analyzing analog and digital electronics circuits and firmware/software algorithms. Working knowledge of modern test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, emulators, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc. Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Strong writing and speaking skillsPreferred Qualifications: Experience using SEL products Experience with LabViewÃ’ Experience with C, assembly language, and script files Experience with firmware development Experience with Microsoft WindowsÃ’ Graphical User Interface development Practical Knowledge of 3-phase power systems An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
