Are you an experienced database administrator looking for a new challenge working in a progressive and growing multi-system platform environment? The United States Bowling Congress has an opportunity for you to design and maintain databases on our mid-range systems and client/server data warehouses that are accessed by over 5,000 users who support over 3 million members nationwide.



USBC is the management organization that supports the popular sport of bowling and its membership. As bowling increases in popularity, we seek enthusiastic candidates to join our team at the national headquarters for the organized sport of bowling, located in a south suburb of Milwaukee, WI. We currently have an opportunity for a Database Administrator to join our Applications Development Team.



The Database Administrator designs, installs, manages, and maintains all Bowling Headquarters data stores (databases, flat files, etc.) as well as those that reside elsewhere but are supported by USBC. In this position you will:



· Design and maintain short term and long term plans for data stores

· Design, develop, install, and test new or enhanced database systems

· Ensure compatibility and efficiency of software applications by monitoring and evaluating database systems

· Answer technical questions regarding database development, installation, and ongoing production

· Resolve database support issues

· Ensure the security, quality, and integrity of data resources



As the successful Database Administrator candidate, you will meet these specific requirements:



· Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

· 5 to 7 years of programming experience

· 2 to 3 years of experience with RPG III and 400 preferred

· 2 to 3 years experience working with DB2 databases and associated tools

· 2 to 3 years experience in data modeling concepts and database definitions

· 2 to 3 years experience in maintaining relational database management systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, Access, etc.

· Certification as Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) preferred

· Certification as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred

· Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills

· Team player
