GSI Commerce trades on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange under the symbol, GSIC.The Computer Operator monitors and controls all computer operations relating to the operation of centralized data processing equipment and peripheral information systems equipment. The Operator must be able to follow detailed instructions to ensure the timely delivery of data and job continuity. He/She will consult with associates in other functional areas when necessary to escalate issues, and prepare progress and status reports related to computer operations as necessary. Primary duties include:' Operates all computer and auxiliary equipment, including large and small scale electronic data processing systems, based on prescribed procedures ' Operates system console, according to procedure, or under the direction of a programmer or other supervisor' Monitors the operation of the systems, applications, and auxiliary equipment' Updates magnetic tape library/libraries, and operates peripheral equipment which includes mounting forms in printers, and mounting tapes and disks on respective devices' Able to perform after hours and weekend help desk functions' Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service ' 1 year technical experience in an AS400, Windows, or Unix environment' Experience with system monitoring tools' Experience in the operations of a computer center in a centralized environment' Ability to communicate effectively and follow directionDesirable Requirements:' 1+ year experience in an Operations or Systems Administration role' Associates Degree or higher in a technical discipline' One or more technical certifications (A+, MCP, MCSE, CCNA, SCSA, etc) RESPOND HERE!
