ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Looking for software engineer to develop and enhance architectural performance tools for Sun's current and future processors. Running simulations, analyzing and verifying performance data, and identifying performance issues. Running scientific and commercial benchmarks, generating architectural traces, conducting workload analysis. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Strong background in computer algorithms and queuing models. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Strong software engineering skills and computer architecture background. Strong C/C++ and scripting language programming skills. Familiarity with: OS and hardware interaction. Architectural simulators. Architectural performance modeling and analysis. Scientific and commercial benchmarks. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE: Experience with Solaris and SPARC a plus.
