Senior UI Engineer - eCommerce, User InterfaceDescription: Senior UI Engineer e-commerce, Visual Studio.NET, Flash, DHTML, JavaScript, W3C, XHTML, DOM, CSS2, VB, ASP, XML, C#/.NET, SEO, Search Engine Optimization, Web Accessibility, Flash, Dreamweaver, AJAXA leader in home shopping, at the forefront of fashion, design and eCommerce, is hiring a Senior UI Engineer.POSITION SUMMARY:Work in a collaborative team environment to implement the User Interface of a high-transactional international eCommerce platform.The Senior UI Engineer: Must be able to work independently. Must be able to incorporate the design work, CSS files, and HTML code of multiple vendors into a common framework within a .NET environment. Provides leadership in full Development Life Cycle UI Engineering. Ensures that the platform maintains evolving W3C standards of client side languages. Participates in Research and Development of implementation of Rich Media into various platforms including video, zoom, and other dynamic imaging to drive online sales. Participates in the development of a Common Interface Layer to support content originally developed for the web being deployed into multiple channels, including ITV, mobile telephony, and Podcasts. Has a strong understanding of technical architecture, design, and scalability; collaborates with Senior Software Engineers on these items. Works with Team Leads and Management to guide project definition and completion. Is able to mentor mid-level UI Engineers. Is experienced leading development efforts on mission-critical web/eCommerce projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in the grey world between User Interface Engineering and backend coding, but will have chosen User Interface Engineering as his/her passion and career path. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:The Senior UI Engineer: Leads the design, development, and maintenance of UI and templates in a large, multi-brand eCommerce environment. Participates in the Research and Development of different tools and technologies that make the maintenance of enterprise-scale eCommerce websites more efficient (e.g. providing greater use of CSS).About Our Client:With sustained growth, a global outreach and a portfolio of renowned brands, Our Client asserts itself as a leader in home shopping in the field of Fashion and Home Decoration, with sales in 2006 topping $2 billion. Requirements: Required Skills for this Senior UI Engineer position include the following: BA/BS required: BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience desirable 5+ years of experience as a UI Engineer; 2-3 years of experience as a UI Engineer in Microsoft-centric development tools; a strong foundation in older Microsoft technologies (e.g. VB, ASP and XML/XSL) Strong UI development skills using Visual Studio.NET technologies Excellent knowledge of all relevant W3C standards (i.e. XHTML, DOM, CSS2) Deep knowledge of all client-side technologies, including Flash, DHTML and JavaScript Experience using MS Visio, MS Project, and Adobe applications a plus Expert-level front-end (UI) development skills, particularly using ASP.NET A strong understanding of mid-tier and backend development (e.g. C#/.NET); actual hands-on C# development experience a plus Knowledge of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Experience with Web Accessibility A deep understanding of graphical design technologies and tools (e.g. Flash, Dreamweaver, AJAX, etc.) Experience working with AJAX JavaScript Libraries Strong understanding of all elements of good UI design, including IA, visual design and brandingPlease no Corp to Corp responses at this time.
