Scheduler
The role of the Scheduler is to use master production plans to create finite manufacturing schedules which minimize production costs, maximizing inventory turns, and maintain superior customer service levels. This position is also responsible for providing accurate production and scheduling data in SAP for use in planning, scheduling, manufacturing, and by other departments throughout New Era Cap.
 Responsibilities:
Work closely with Planning, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure that production schedules, and the scheduling and manufacturing data, in SAP are accurate and have been optimized to maximize production efficiencies. Develops the domestic manufacturing plant finite production schedule using the weekly production plan and the tools within SAP.Regularly updates, reviews, and refines the plant schedule to support the latest prioritiesCreates and updates all Production Orders (Stock, MTO, Rework, Rush) in SAPWorks with plant management and planning to resolve Work Center constraintsWorks closely with the production floor plant management & supervision to communicates changes to the cutting and production assembly schedules.Responsible for performing and managing change requests for all Production Orders.Closes all completed manufacturing Production Orders.Updates and publishes the Manufacturing Metrics file.Works with SAP and internal providers to obtain accurate data on timeUpdates each measure and loads new dataDistributes the results and posts the data to the NEC intranet siteWorks with Planning and Manufacturing to coordinate A-team, OTT, Quick-turn like requests with available capacity.Updates routine reports, and department projects/initiatives and posts the data for use on The Commons.Back-up for the Cap Machine/Subcontractor Scheduler role for the scheduling and coordination of all Cap Machine and Heat-Seal production within and outside NEC.Key Hot Market team member for all time sensitive events which have unique quantities, production turn-around, or designs associated with them.Other duties or tasks as assigned.
 Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Requirements:
Minimum of 2 to 3 years hands-on experience in a scheduling or production planning related job role in a manufacturing or corporate setting:
·        Strong knowledge of Supply Chain best practices and theories (MPS, RCCP, CPFR, MRP, CRP, S&OP, etc.)
·        Sound computer skills:
·        Good technical skills using the planning or scheduling tools of a major ERP software system (SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.) Should have experience in a Production Planning or Materials Management module implementation, enhancement, or other software utilization improvement initiative.
·        Good technical skills in all primary Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
·        Experience with inventory management principles (JIT, Pull vs. Push, KANBAN, Lean) best practices, and cycle counting or physical inventory events.
·        Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of staff and outside customers/suppliers.
·        Experience communicating ideas in a group forum and effectively facilitates meetings
·        Detail oriented; accomplishes tasks by considering all areas involved showing concern for all processes and tasks, no matter how small.
·        Must have good mathematical skills.
·        Must be attuned to the needs of internal customers, employ diplomacy & tact, and work well in a team environment
·        Understand how to develop effective goals which support a company’s strategic objective.

Minimum Requirements:Â
§        Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain related field and at least 3 years of relevant job experience.Â
§        APICS certification preferred.
