Retail General Manager/Store Manager
Job Description:
Retail General Manager/ Store Manager
Responsible for overall management of complex stores. Achieving sales objectives, excellent customer service and client building. Maintaining and achieving high operational and merchandising standards and goals, building highly motivated teams and developing associates to the next level.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sales:
• Meet AOP business goals as defined by management
• Continuously motivate sales staff to meet assigned sales and productivity goals for category
• Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor
• Develop events/incentives that will continue to grow customer base, with particular emphasis placed on building local markets
Customer Service:
• Maintain the highest degree of customer service and client building
• Assist sales associates with various customer service issues
• Empower associates to make decisions in the best interest of providing good customer service
Training:
• Provide product knowledge/training to all staff to enhance and ensure cross selling amongst categories
* Staff recruiting and hiring
• Ensure compliance of all company guidelines
Operations:
• Effective utilization of POS system and its inventory management functions
* Partner with local/ Doncaster consultants on various projects and shows when needed.
• Partner with merchandiser and product teams to insure appropriate assortment
• Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports as stipulated by the Director of stores
• Create staff work schedules and ensure appropriate department coverage
• Maintain good communication with members of corporate office, regional office, mall office, repair facility and other stores
• Full Profit and Loss responsibility with particular attention given to controllable expenses and sales plan
• Manager to be fully trained in current POS systems and to insure that the staff is proficient as well
• Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements
• The Manager should be proficient in the general software that is used by the company (Word, Excel, etc.), and request necessary training for self and select staff members
* Travel when required to Company functions and training
• Perform other projects, as assigned
Visuals:
• Maintain strong merchandising standards as set forth by corporate visual department, to achieve goals of proper window display
Requirements
Education:
• BA preferred
Special Skills:
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to build effective teams; motivate and develop staff
• Foreign Languages a plus, computer literacy
Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 -10 years retail experience with 2 years specialty Management
