Purchasing Clerk

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Clerk to work within the fashion industry corporate headquarters in Irvine. This is a temporary position covering for someone going on a leave of absence for 3.5 months, but could lead into a permanent position.Essential Duties and Respnsibilities:Assist with the purchasing of merchandise products and services. This will inlcude store supplies, distribution center supplies, office service supplies, merchandise packaging items, construction supplies and maintenance/service contracts.  Ensure appropriate inventory levels for all inventoried items.Candidate will work with existing vendors and assist with the sourcing of new vendors to ensure optimal pricing, order quantities and service levels are attained.Act as liason between all departments to ensure proper communication is attained during the request for proposal process. This will mean the conducting of a meeting if necessary.Assist in the gathering of data to help analyze the business practices of the supplies department.Work with 3rd party procurement and logistics companies as prudent and necessary.Assist in the tracking of vendor compliance, i.e. correct quantity, UOM, pricing, tax, FOB shipping costs are accurate against a general corporate company generated purchase order. Report and act as necessary.Assist wtih submission of all invoices to Accounts Payable.Assist in the disposal of any surplus materials/supplies.Job Requirements:Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, minimum 3 years vendor relations experienceExperience with Lawson A/P and Lawson PO is recommended but not requiredAssocitates degree or higher is recommended but not requiredPay:Starting pay is between $12-18 per hour.
