Senior Project Manager (Part-time)

This in an immediate need for a strong project manager for the pilot phase of a RFID implementation project. This initial phase of the project is anticipated to last 3 months and requires 3 days/week of work at the client site in Manhattan.

 

Project would be extended to a full-time role based on the outcome of this pilot phase.


Responsibilities:

·  Directly manages and monitors project schedule/progress

·  Provides effective communication with project teams, project sponsor(s), and Senior IT Management

·  Provide status reports to all project stakeholders on a timely basis

·  Manage issues and provides mitigation strategies as needed and escalates issues that cannot be resolved at lower levels

·  Conduct and facilitate meetings as required, for project teams, stakeholders, executive sponsors, project sponsors and business areas

·  Prepares and coordinates agendas and topics for meetings

·  Will be expected to work well with others in a collaborative mode

·  Must be able to work under tight deadlines

 

Skills:

 

·  Solid understanding of Project Management Methodologies

 

·  Experience working with MS Project, MS Excel and good documentation skills

·  Project Management certification would be desired but not required

·  Any experience working in the retail industry would be helpful

·  Any knowledge of RFID would be nice to have but not required

·  Must be an analytical problem solver and creative thinker

·  Must have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

·  Negotiating skills to broker difficult decisions among multiple stakeholders
