Programmer Analyst

This individual will be responsible for managing the AS/400 JD Edward's operating environment inclusive of backup and recovery, starting and stopping subsystems, managing outqueues, system's messages and job run schedules. Additional responsibilities include developing CL programs, read and interpret OCL statements, load PTFs and perform operating system upgrades. To ensure optimal performance candidate must be able to monitor system performance, disk utilization, modify system values for performance and security along with monitoring system logs. Must be able to define and configure communications facilities for the AS/400 system inclusive of TCP IP, Ethernet, FTP file transfers, and client access/Rumba/View Now. The candidate will also oversee the backup and recovery of the AS/400 environment and verify that saved media can be utilized to restore the company's IT environment. Must be able to research solutions and make recommendations to IT management that resolve user problems, enhance system performance and attain business unit and IT goals.

The successful candidate must be a driven individual with strong customer focus with the ability to work independently to resolve AS/400 system and application failures. Must have strong follow through skills with availability for off hours and weekend support. 10% travel required to support our US and Canadian operations. The individual must possess strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
