Fabric Technologist

My client is a specialty retailer selling men’s and women’s apparel, intimate apparel, gifts and fragrances. This is an opportunity to be with an unbelievable fashion forward brand where the culture is about teamwork and collaboration.  The essential task the Fabric Technologist will be responsible for are as follows but not limited to:1)  Coordinate Fabric Hand off with R&D partners.2)  Compile and maintain “standardsâ€� library.3)  Multi source key/core product as required. 4)  Ensure adherence to fabric and garment submit/testing process, maintain complete and accurate files within FTC guidelines.5)  Troubleshoot and bring to conclusion fabric production/ testing issues.6)  Initiate and manage wear testing process for fabrics, communicate results and conclusions to cross-functional partners.  7)  Assign Care instructions for specific fabrics..8)  Maintain PDM records. Skills:· Proven technical expertise in fabric construction, manufacturing, dyeing and finishing· Excellent written and verbal communication· Effective time management and organizational skills· Ability to work well in a team environment.· Basic Computer skills a must, including Microsoft office. Word/ Excell/ Powerpoint/ Outlook Education & Experience:· College degree in a textile related subject or 5 years equivalent work experience· Previous experience in fabric technology and testing.
