The following exciting opportunity is located at our Global Headquarters in Los Angeles, California.

 





Responsible for supervision and management of the Corporate Accounting Department that is responsible for the month-end close processes, fixed assets, general ledger and consolidation of financial statements. Besides the technical aspects, you will be counted upon to provide true leadership for the Accounting department with the goal of ensuring that team members are performing up to expected levels.  You will need strong communication skills and the desire to enable others to succeed.

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Provide true executive level leadership

· Supervise managers of the three corporate accounting operations and related staff

· Manage the external reporting process i.e. P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement

· Oversee and manage payment processing of merchandise, expense and construction costs for national operations

· Oversee and manage credit and collection of Wholesale Accounts Receivable operations

· Works closely with corporate controller to ensure proper control over these key accounting operations

· Liaison with IT, Production, Distribution Center, Finance and other corporate departments to improve overall efficiency and accuracy of accounting and reporting

· Establish formal documentation of accounting policies and procedures

· Works closely on policy implementation with senior management and CFO

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current accounting pronouncements, GAAP and other compliance issues

· Coordinate with internal and external auditors as required

· Complete special projects as assigned

 

 

MINIMUM QUALICATIONS ARE:

· A take charge Executive type personality

· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance

· Big 4 CPA firm and public company experience

· CPA designation would be a plus

· 7 – 10 years experience in functions directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified

· Working knowledge of financial reporting systems (JDE, PeopleSoft Enterprise One)

· Experience in SEC Financial Reporting would be a plus

· Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

· Solid organizational and problem-solving skills with a thorough understanding of accounting principles

· Proficiency in Excel and Word

· Sarbanes-Oxley compliance skills are preferred
