Position Description:The Turnaround Superintendent reports into the Turnaround and Central Planning Manager Implements the Turnaround process strategy and supervises the execution of work to achieve the Plant objectives and business goals.MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accountabilities• Champions the budget process for assigned T/As.• Owns and manages individual T/A process for assigned T/As from cradle to grave. • Performs control estimates.• Manages key turnaround metrics for area – cost, schedule, quality, and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS).• Oversees execution of schedule.• Ensures EHS results.Responsibilities• Develops area scorecard.• Performs planning and scheduling duties as required, particularly in early development stages of T/A process.• Ensures maintenance and capital integration in planning, scheduling, and execution of T/As.• Makes decisions to adjust schedule.• Coordinates manpower leveling (needs ability to use P3).• Participates in problem solving.• Ensures integration of resources.• Manages logistics – meetings, tents, equipment, and other applicable tasks.• Sets milestones.• ManagesT/A scopes and WSC process for individual T/As.• Attends project portfolio reviews.• Seeks opportunities for future improvements in process or individual T/A specifics.• Completes compliance requirements, including compliance matrix, and other training for position, as required.• Performs other related duties, as required.Health, Safety, & Environmental• Ensures regulatory and corporate compliance.• Leads by example.Operational Performance• Ensures department goals are aligned with plant business imperatives.• Ensures performance goals are met.• Ensures achievement of all unit KPIs.• Ensures adherence to applicable standard work processes. Reference T/A Manual.• Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.• Manages area budget / cost and quality.• Supports business processes and requirements.People Management/Development• Promotes open and honest communication.• Fosters “team building”. • Fosters a culture focused on problem solving and process improvement.• Ensures decision making at proper levels.• Ensures clear roles and responsibilities.• Engages workforce.• Maintains positive employee morale.• Determines resource planning and deployment strategy for individual T/As. Performs or assists in performing recruiting and staffing activities for contract employees as needed.• Facilitates performance management / employee development. • Performs Human Resources recordkeeping and reporting activities, as needed.• Manages employee and labor relations matters in conjunction with Human Resources, as appropriate.• Ensures systems and processes are in place to maintain smooth operations during employee absences and staffing changes.• Fosters culture that values diversity and promotes respect, inclusion, cooperation and responsibility. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education and Experience Requirements • High School Diploma or GED. • Minimum five (5) years experience in planning, scheduling, and execution of turnarounds in a chemical manufacturing plant or refinery.• Preferred minimum three (3) years experience in a maintenance organization as a supervisor.• Good working knowledge of Primavera scheduling software, e.g., P3, P5, etc OR equivalent project/scheduling software experience.• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite software including Word, Excel, Access, and also in SAP PM and MM modules.• Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting all types of engineering drawings. Certifications/Affiliations Required • N/A. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES • Demonstrates respect, inclusion, cooperation and responsibility (RICR).• Demonstrates competencies as outlined in the Rohm and Haas Leadership Competency Model. KEY INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS • Requires daily contact with employees in other departments. SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Works in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, performs manual activities including climbing ladders/stairs, performing confined space entries, and working on elevated platforms.
