Transportation & Distribution Systems Planner Job Title: Transportation & Distribution Systems Planner Department: Supply ChainLocation: Corporate BASIC FUNCTION:Responsible for developing and maintaining the technical systems related to the consolidated TPI transportation and distribution planning analysis, communicating those plans to relevant internal and external customers, and directing, coordinating, and maintaining economical and efficient transportation services for the company. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, implement, and maintain historical shipment trends into and out of the SIT storage yards. Develop consolidated monthly transportation or packaging forecasts and communicate results to TPI approved strategic carriers (rail, ocean, truck) or approved strategic packaging facilities. Develop and maintain an “empty railcar” inbound tracking/monitoring system. Establish and communicate KPI’s and benchmarks relating to Supply Chain planning and forecasting. Identify and improve transportation and distribution planning processes. Conduct weekly operations planning meetings with the business units; capture and distribute meeting minutes. Responsible for transportation analysis and savings/cost opportunity analysis and the implementation and management of cost analysis measures. Develop adhoc transportation and distribution reports for business lines or Supply Chain group on “as needed” and “as approved by current manager” basis. Additional duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:· Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years experience; 5+ years experience without Bachelor’s degree.· Advanced technical skills – Excel, Access, SAP, and BW.
