Position Summary:
Global producer of specialty chemicals has an exciting opportunity for a Product Risk Assessment Specialist to utilize their toxicology and industrial hygiene background to built product risk assessment as a core competency for the company. Position is responsible for product risk assessment planning, management, communication and compliance, and will have a high degree of international exposure. Candidates that meet the position requirements and would be motivated by building Product Risk Assessment as a core competency and growing along with it are highly encouraged to apply using the online links provided.
Functions/Responsibilities:
· Developing and supporting implementation of a global product risk management plan
· Developing and managing a risk assessment/risk management communication strategy
· Supporting implementation of the global product stewardship strategy
· Assessing existing product data and providing recommendations for additional testing/data collection
· Supporting compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
· Working with business units to define and help to obtain product use and exposure data necessary to support the risk assessment process
· Supporting development of strategies and data via participation in applicable trade associations
· Reviewing and providing input to hazard communication documents and procedures
· Conducting targeted risk assessment/risk management training for associates
· Supporting the process for the development of new products or the revision of existing products
· High European exposure
Requirements:
Must Have:
1. Advanced degree in toxicology and/or environmental/occupational health
2. Industrial hygiene experience
3. 5+ years of commercial product risk assessment and management experience
4. Proven ability to effectively communicate product risk assessment and management data and concepts
5. Occupational/Environmental Health and Safety management experience
Would Like:
1. Experience conducting chemical product safety risk assessments
2. Regulatory compliance experience (TSCA, OSHA, FIFRA, etc.)
3. Broad toxicological experience
4. Industrial hygiene certification (CIH)
5. Chemistry degree
6. Global product risk assessment experience
