The position has overall managerial responsibility for site raw material planning, finite production scheduling, loading operations, and transportation. This position manages those responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels, fulfilling the master production schedule, truck and railcar loading, and coordinating inbound / outbound transportation (rail and bulk truck). The principle responsibilities are as follows:Implements the detailed production plan based on the Master Production Schedule(MPS) Develops and implements short, medium, and long range plans in conjunction with site, group, and corporate in order to meet the strategic goals of the site and the corporation.Provides leadership and expertise to optimize inventories, production scheduling, loading operations, and transportation.Effectively interacts with other site functional areas to ensure that their needs are fully met.Develops relationships with suppliers and negotiates favorable terms and conditions that impact the site, the business unit and the corporation.Effectively interacts with Business Unit Supply Chain, Corporate Supply Chain, and Corporate Procurement .Champions new ideas, provides career development for immediate staff, and promotes trust that fosters a team environment.

 A degree in Supply Chain or a related field is required and a master’s degree is preferred.  Certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (CPIM) is highly recommended. A minimum of ten (10) years logistics / supply chain experience is necessary along with proven management experience.  Strong interpersonal skills are a must.Strong leadership skills are essential to lead and direct diverse teams comprised of site supply chain planning and site operations personnel.A thorough knowledge of  finite scheduling, material requirements planning, warehousing, and inventory control theory and practice is required  A strong working knowledge of SAP R/3 Finite Scheduling and Materials Requirements Planning along with moderate experience using MS Excel is required.
