An excellent career opportunity is available for a Sr. Process Project Engineer - Gas Processing Technology within the Process Technology & Equipment organization located in Des Plaines, IL.

 

Position Responsibilities: Will manage the creation of the basic design engineering package for Solvents (mainly Stele and Amines) technology projects including the project specifications, process simulation and P&ID.Complete assigned design tasks per the agreed schedule.Attend and participate in team meetings.Contribute and participate in customer meetings as assigned and agreed with the Project Team Leader/Project Manager.Keep Project Team Leader/Project Manager informed of progress on assigned tasks.Bring any problems with man-hour overruns or schedule delays to the Project Team Leader/Project Manager as early as possible - no surprises.Apply current technology-wide and technology-specific design practices and tools for completion of assigned design tasks.Provide complete and detailed instruction and basis to equipment specialists assisting with assigned design tasks.Document all calculations and decisions in a clear, concise format.Adapt OP design standards and procedures to meet project-specific requirements on assigned design tasks.Provide support for the Project Review Meetings.Be familiar with work process map and apply as appropriate to each project.Be familiar with quality policy and apply to each project as appropriate (check lists, documentation, etc).Provide Sales Support assistance as assigned

Basic Candidate Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering is required.5 plus years engineering experience in the refining, petrochemical or gas processing industry.2 plus years utilizing process simulation/modeling tools i.e., Aspen & Physics.2 plus experience working with heat exchangers, fired heaters and compressors.US work authorization.Ability to travel globally 10% on an annual basis.

Additional Candidate Requirements: Experience with Solvents and or membrane technology is highly desired.Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.Excellent presentation skills.Ability to function well within a team based work environment.
