Sr. Consultant/Engineer

AspenTech's Optimization Group, a part of Professional Services Americas, provides professional consulting services to help our clients operate their plants in the most efficient manner possible. One of our focus areas is energy management; how to minimize energy costs. Our consultants are involved in all aspects of energy management on large, integrated chemical / petrochemical / refining sites, executing projects such as:
Energy and environmental assessments
Implementation of AspenTech's integrated aspenONE solutions for Energy Management
Technology transfer, including application support and customer training

In this position, the candidate will work in multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural and multi-regional virtual teams around the world.

The individual will report to the Energy Optimization Team Leader.
Responsibilities Include:
Executing process engineering and energy assessment studies, under the direction of an advisory consultant
Developing detailed functional design specifications for energy management systems
Building models and configuring mixed-integer, multi-period optimization of site-wide utilities systems using Aspen Utilities
Implementation of online real-time energy optimization systems, by integrating Aspen Utilities with process information systems
Testing, documentation and technology transfer to client engineers, to maximize ROI
Customer care, including application support and training, to ensure the benefits of the system are sustained
Feedback of lessons learnt from the field to Research and Development to facilitate continuous improvement of Aspentech's energy optimization and management software
Other duties as assigned or required

This position requires:
BSc, Chemical Engineering minimum, MSc, Chemcial Engineering advantageous
3-5 years proven industrial experience in Chemical Process Industries. Past positions in Process Engineering/Design with E&C or operating company is a plus.
Fluency in English.

4. Experience with process simulation tools, preferably equation oriented tools
5. Experience with process optimization, especially using online models as well as mixed-integer multi-period optimization.
6. Utilities process design or operations experience.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Team worker
