Senior Reliability Engineer - Fixed Equipment
Job Responsibilities
The Reliability Engineer will be a resource for theOperations, Maintenance and Turnaround Planning departments. The position focuses on improving versusrepairing equipment and considers return on investment within the decisionmaking process. Responsible forcontinuous improvement of mechanical infrastructure (fired and unfired vessels, exchangers and components,piping systems, including line valves, psv’s, traps, and isolation systems),team skill sets and development of proactive processes that prevent mechanicalequipment failures and result inimproved equipment reliability. The Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer will be a mentor for and providetechnical liaison to area operations and maintenance organization; providingassistance in troubleshooting equipment and identifying design deficiencies inexisting equipment. Develops andimplements solutions to eliminate design deficiencies in support of improvedequipment performance and reliability. The position includes a leadership role in developing new mechanicalasset preventative maintenance programs, improving existing programs anddetermining support systems for those programs (i.e., inspection intervals,statistical analysis, spares inventories, maintenance periods) .The Reliability Engineer will assist planners and project managers developscope, estimates and cost/benefit analysis in support of projects to improvemechanical asset reliability. Identifiesand prioritizes opportunities to improve or eliminate unreliable assets. Provide detailed, accurate specifications andinstructions to Purchasing for new equipment and component quotations andrequisitions and will conduct root cause failure analysis and incident investigationsas required to prevent repeat failures and make improvements to existingprocedures and standards.
The Reliability Engineer will work closely with safety andenvironmental teams. Takesresponsibility for personal contribution to the success of team. Requires strong interpersonal skills,excellent verbal and written skills.
This is a one yearcontract with possible extensions, based on performance:
Minimum Skills required:
·B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or ChemicalEngineering)
·10 to 15+ years plant experience, preferablyin a petrochemicals operation
·Process simulation experience is a plus.
·Strong demonstrated interpersonal andcommunication skills.
·Ability to work effectively with allpersonnel regardless of function/level.
·Strong organization and planning skills.
·Results oriented.
PhysicalRequirements and Working Conditions:
·Must be willing to work in and accepting ofthe differences associated with a foreign culture – Saudi Arabia.
·Must be able to enter and move about inconfined spaces and wear personnel protective equipment.
·Must be able to climb stairs in operatingunit.
·Ability to work in extreme temperatures andweather conditions for periods of time.
·Must be willing to work in excess of 10hours per day and 5 to 6 days per week
