Senior Process Utility Engineer/Principal Process Utility Engineer
Eisai Inc. is a U.S. pharmaceutical subsidiary of Tokyo-based Eisai Co., Ltd., a research-based human health care company that discovers, develops, and markets products in more than 30 countries. Established in 1995, we began marketing our first product in the United States in 1997 and have rapidly grown to become an integrated pharmaceutical business. We have the following opportunity at our state-of-the-art pharmaceutical production and formulation research and development facility in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
This position applies process engineering and critical and plant utility knowledge to (1) solve process utility problems, (2) identify process utility requirements for new equipment and facility projects, (3) manage utility system capital projects, and (4) provide input into utility operational procedures, controls and maintenance. The position requires advanced knowledge of both plant and critical utility system methodologies and/or the application of new technologies.
Responsibilities include:
* Specifying, designing and installing process equipment and systems in direct support of commercial and clinical manufacturing operations.
* Analyzing process requirements and evaluating equipment and systems to ensure deliverables meet or exceed regulatory requirements (cGMP), process specifications and manufacturing requirements.
* Evaluating and recommending new process technologies that optimize performance.
* Preparing throughput, capacity, mass, material and energy balance calculations to support process utility requirements.
* Coordinating with engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail design drawings and specifications for equipment purchase, construction and facilities expansion.
Requirements include:
* BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 15 to 20+ years of process utility/project engineering experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
* Advanced technical expertise associated with pharmaceutical/biotech process utility engineering, operations, equipment, and utilities.
* A proven track record demonstrating knowledge creation, subject matter expertise and ability to handle complex tasks independently.
* Ability to initiate, develop, design and evaluate plans independently and be completely responsible for planning and execution of all tasks needed to achieve goals.
