Senior Geophysicist - Ocean Bottom Cabling

Q4B, Inc., a national recruiting firm, has been chosen by a global seismic solutions company to assist them with their recruiting needs.  Our customer provides advanced acquisition equipment, software, planning, and seismic processing services to the oil & gas industry.  E&P companies and seismic acquisition contractors use our customer’s technologies and services to help them generate images of the subsurface during exploration, exploitation, and production operations.

 

Due to growing needs in the oil & gas industry, we are seeking qualified candidates for Senior Geophysicist opportunities in Houston, Texas and other major U.S. cities. 

 

As a Senior Geophysicist, you will:

· Be responsible for on time delivery of high quality geophysical projects

· Perform 3D Ocean Bottom Cabling (OBC), data processing and imaging, (PSMT & PSDM)

· Provide geophysical parameter testing, and workflow design on projects

· Lead technical meetings with clients

· Support 3D land and marine projects

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Ocean Bottom Cabling (OBC), 3D and 4D, Refraction Statistics, Vertical Seismic Profiling  experience

· Multi-Component 3D seismic data experience with Hydro Foam, Vertical Geo Foam, 2 horizontal components

· Earth Sciences, Mathematics or related field Degree;  or equivalent relevant field experience

· 7-10 years relative experience in the seismic industry

· Experience using Unix, Linux, Promax, Marine Q software

· Strong land and marine processing background
