Safety Manager, Oklahoma

Small/Medium sized manufacturing facility needs a Safety Manager .  Will promote environmental Safety and Health, preven accidents by enhancing the Company's loss control efforts.  Assists  in the implementation and maintenance of policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.  Responsibilities include leadership and assisting in the direction of developing a proactive culture where safety is the NUMBER ONE priority. 

Functions:  Assists in the development and implementation of the Env. Safety and Health program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions.  Utilizing knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, psychology and industrial safety and health laws. 

Examines plans and specs. for new machinery or equipment to determine if all safety precautions have been included and that the appropriate JSA's have been developed, updated and reviewed before machine operation has begun. 

Tours mill to inspect fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. 

Determines requirements for safety clothing and devices and assists in the direction of installation of safety devices on machinery. 

Conducts safety and first aid training to educate workers about safety policies, laws, and practices. 

Performs Safety audits.

Investigates accidents or near misses. 

Assists in the scheduling and/or schedules industrial hygiene tests annually and as necessary. 

Ensures compliance with ALL env. health and safety regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws/regulations that impact the organization. 

Monitors workmen's compensation claims. 

Other duties as required. 

Education:  BS degree in safety engineering, Industrial Safety or Engineering field or similar.  Like to see 5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.  CPE, CSP, or CIH certifications a PLUS.

Must be able to work in USA with NO sponsorship.
