SQM Manager, Procurement and SCM (US)

Description:Supplier Quality Management (SQM) leads the development and implementation of the supplier quality management program for the Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) function. A major part of the SQM role is to put in place the SQM processes and the organizational capability that enables and assures contractors and suppliers deliver to the BP Group Integrity Management (IM) Standard Requirements, PSCM SPU Performance Contracts and PSCM Segment Strategies. SQM provides discipline expertise to assist PSCM and Engineering, including: Supplier Pre-QualificationRight First Time Supplier Quality PlanningMeasurement and Monitoring of Supplier QualityContinuous ImprovementThe SQM Manager leads and manages the Supplier Quality Management (SQM) Sector/SPU team in the deployment of the SQM strategy. The prime objective of the role is to ensure that competent SQM resources, structured controls and processes are developed and implemented into the overall Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) Process. The role provides leadership and organizational capability to support engineering, operations and PSCM Functions to deliver and assure SQM and BP Group Integrity Management (IM) Standard requirements are rigorously implemented and managed throughout all phases of supplier management processes.Qualifications:To be considered for the role of SQM Manager - PSCM Global applicants must have:- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for at least 25% of the role- Minimum of 5 - 10 year experience in a global a Supplier Quality Management role with 2-3 of those years in management.- Has openly communicated with integrity to key business stakeholders to align direction between purchasing and the internal customer- Proven leadership skills (including ability to influence without reporting relationships)- A proven track record of leading and defining supplier improvement activities and shaping the methods for supplier approaches to business excellence - Experience in the creation of a company-wide strategy and key performance indicators around Supplier Quality Management- Knowledge of business management, infrastructure requirements, business planning and operational measurement- Demonstrates skillful application of Market sector strategy development & application, Demand management- Significant experience working with contractors and suppliers in the design manufacturing and testing of heavy industry equipment and materials- Detailed understanding of Quality Control processes as applied to materials and equipment involved with the oil and gas or similar industries- Demonstrates advanced application of Supplier Quality Management, Contract execution and management, Project Management Skills, Negotiating and Influencing Strategy, Financial Skills- Demonstrated practical application of Lean, Six Sigma and business improvement tools- Strong background in International Management Systems including (but not limited to): ISO 9000 - Quality Generic ISO 29001 - Quality, Oil and Gas ISO 14001 - Environment OHSAS 18001 - Health & Safety SA 8000 - Corporate ResponsibilitySalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: Houston, TXJob Number: RUSABP2235-613534Company Profile:Our business is the exploration, production, refining, trading and distribution of energy. BP E&P Global Procurement & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) is responsible for working with Strategic Performance Units (SPUs) and other functional groups to maximize value delivered from expenditures with third parties. PSCM provides procurement and supply chain management for oil and natural gas exploration, development and production and related transportation and processing activities. The PSCM function is envisioned as a key lever to provide a significant contribution to BP's bottom line and is in the midst of implementing a new Strategy to enable BP to meet its targets on cash costs, capital expenditures and production.
