SAN Storage Administrator and Backup Recovery Specialist

As an integral part of the NOSC team, the SAN Storage Administrator and Backup Recovery Specialist is tasked with maintaining the SAN-based storage environment and infrastructure in FMC’s worldwide data centers on a 24 x 7 basis.  The SAN Storage Administrator and Backup Recovery Specialist is responsible for the preparation, allocation, performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for the local and remote storage environments.  The SAN Storage Administrator and Backup Recovery Specialist is also responsible for establishing and maintaining the standards for FMC’s Disaster Recovery processes and procedures used by all FMC locations.  The storage administrator will interface directly with other IT teams, site administrators, process teams, global ERP project teams, business units and industry experts  as needed to manage and maintain overall technical integrity of the organization's data storage, backup, and disaster recovery infrastructures. Responsibilities:  Design, build, test, and maintain SAN, Storage, and associated infrastructure Monitor storage usage and allocation Perform storage allocation including clones and snapshots Manage inter-site storage connectivity, replication and synchronization Perform capacity planning for storage environment across sites and application environments Perform storage performance monitoring and tuning Configure data replication Perform storage script creation and management Plan and execute storage upgrades and patches Develop and test disaster recovery processes specific to each storage environment. Ensure disaster recovery plans for FMC’s data centers are up-to-date Assist other FMC locations with the maintenance of their disaster recovery plans Verify storage integrity Provide guidance on storage configuration and presentation to servers Perform SAN fabric configuration management and zoning Management of software tools used in the configuration and management of SAN storage Ensure that data storage solutions are implemented and supported to meet internal and external standards and service level requirements Solve problems related to installation, implementation, maintenance, and operations of SAN and data storage solutions and related infrastructure components. Serve on cross-functional projects teams as the data storage subject matter expert. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of the SAN and storage environment Document system design and related processes.

Job Requirements:
Experience: 4+ years Information Technology experience. 4+ years server administration experience. 4+  years focused experience with SAN and data storage technologies Project management experience, including; timeline planning, resource allocation, and budget control. Minimum of 1 year tape operations and vaulting management. Strong Fiber Channel Switch, iSCSI, and NAS hardware/software configuration and implementation experience. Working knowledge of Enterprise-class Storage Hardware from EMC, HDS, or IBM required. Hands-on Windows server administration experience required. Minimum 1 year experience with Veritas, Navisphere, Powerpath, LVM, or other storage/archival software. Thorough understanding of backup and recovery technologies & practices, including high-availability and clustering solutions. Working knowledge with configuring LAN Free backup components Capacity planning / performance analysis functions experience Experience working on Disaster Recovery exercises  Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
