Reservoir Engineering Advisor

Boasting incredible and sustainable growth, the company seeks a Reservoir Engineering Advisor for their Southern Division based in Houston, Texas.

The Reservoir Engineering Advisor will work with a team of Exploration Geoscientists identifying new opportunities for the Gulf of Mexico Shelf.



SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Calculate reserves and evaluate risk on prospects and associated analogs, as part of an integrated Team.Interface with Drilling, Facilities, and Marketing to determine accurate project costs for Exploration wells.Calculate well and project economics, and manage the Shelf Exploration portfolio.Maintain the reserve database system for SEC and corporate reporting and capital budgeting.Track the actual performance versus plan.Provide Engineering support for G&G regional studies





EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



Minimum of 8 years Industrial experience. Prior experience in Production Engineering Operations strongly preferred Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering or related field of studyMasters Degree in Engineering desirableExperience using an Engineering Economic Software package is required, preferably PEEP.Background in Probabilistic Reserve Analysis preferred.Advanced computer and database skill setsStrong communication skillsSkilled in Log Analysis, Reservoir Performance Analysis, Nodal Analysis, Economic Analysis and Project ManagementMust have strong technical background in reservoir engineering including decline curve analysis, material balance and volumetric assessments, waterflood evaluation, pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, etc. with a general understanding of offshore geology. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Advanced Excel skills





CRITICAL SKILLS



Experience in preparing exploration economic evaluations, reservoir performance forecasts (rates and recoveries) for exploration prospects using various reservoir engineering methods.Generation of conceptual field development plans, including recovery process, occasional reservoir simulation, data acquisition planning, and integration of costs and drilling schedules for economic assessments using PEEP is desirable. Prepare and apply various spreadsheet forecasting tools to optimize full-field development planning over the range of geologic descriptions (numbers and locations of development wells, drilling schedule, etc.) Background in Probabilistic Reserve Analysis preferred.
