Research Manager - Product Validation & Claims Substantiation

Research Manager - Product Validation & Claims Substantiation opportunity with a leading specialty chemical company located in central/northern New Jersey.  Manage the research projects in the Product Validation & Claims Substantiation laboratory.  Ensure test protocols are in place for customer projects, interpret data and test results and write customer reports, support the efforts in other groups or departments by making customer visits and give presentations in support of Sales and Marketing, provide team support for project completion to Synthesis, Applications, Sales and Marketing, develop new methodologies to measure the physical-chemical properties of hair, maintain computer databases and paper records for reports, test methods, and presentations, conduct performance reviews.  MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry or Surfactant Chemistry.  5-10 years of experience in performing claims substantiation on hair care products.  Experience with hair care claims instrumentation such as Dia-Strons, SEMs (scanning electron microscope), Contact Angle, Colorimeters, Weatherometers, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and techniques for image analysis are preferred.  A solid background in physical chemistry and instrumental analysis are essential.  Must have a working knowledge of MS Office.
