QAQC Advisor

This position (staff or contract), based in Houston Texas, will report to the GDEP Team Manager. The primary responsibility will be to provide QAQC support to the regional drilling and completion teams.  Normal duties will be to provide QAQC expertise and consultation in support of global drilling operations.  The position requires some domestic and international travel.

 

· Develop and maintain D&C related QAQC standards, processes and procedures including equipment specific integrity assurance requirements

· Provide QAQC consultation to the regional D&C teams

· Provide recommendations to the regional D&C teams and GSC to ensure QAQC requirements and standards are clearly identified in ITTs and on purchase orders

· Assist regional D&C teams with the identification of applicable standards, certification and monogramming requirements for D&C equipment

· Assist with supplier selection by  evaluating bids and recommending suppliers

· Review suppliers Quality Plans and Inspection Matrices to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications

· Participate in pre-manufacturing and pre-inspection meetings with suppliers when requested by regional teams

· Review procedures for equipment qualification tests, factory acceptance tests, stack up tests and system integration tests to ensure these tests are relevant and will prove the integrity of the equipment, witness tests on critical equipment as requested by the regional D&C teams

· Review and advise the regional D&C teams on Concession Requests and on Non Conformance acceptance

· Conduct periodic audits of suppliers as requested by the regional teams

· Assist regional drilling and completions teams in the selection, management and coordination of 3rd party inspectors

· Monitor ongoing well operations and assist regional D&C teams with investigations into equipment problems and failures

· Ensure that QAQC that lessons learned are captured and shared with other teams where appropriate.

· Build and maintain effective working relationships with the regional D&C teams

 

· Minimum 10+ years QAQC experience in with at least 5 years in drilling and completions

· Extensive knowledge of drilling and completion equipment and related QAQC codes, standards and specifications e.g. API, NACE and ISO etc.

· Drilling and/or completions operational experience, preferred

· 3rd party inspector experience, preferred

· International experience, preferred

· Certified auditor, preferred

· An engineering degree or a degree in Quality Management

· Track record in developing and implementing successful QAQC standards, processes and programs

· Ability to develop ideas and work effectively with minimal supervision in a diverse multidiscipline team environment

· Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with management and operations personnel

· Self motivated to learn and adopt new ideas

 

Salary based on experience (range is $120,000-180,000) PLUS 25% BONUS potential.  Excellent benefits and long term career opportunity.
