Co., Inc. a global leader in manufacturing and distribution recently listed as “One of America’s Fastest Growing Companiesâ€� by Fortune’s Small Business has an excellent opportunity for a MANAGER OF PURCHASING in our Corporate Head Quarters located in Boca Raton, Florida. This position is responsible for managing the domestic supply of raw material commodities in support of manufacturing operations, as well as, distribution of a wide range of finished goods. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

· Manage commodity purchasing with specialization in Chemical, Petro-Chemical, Polymers, and Plastics for our multiple flooring adhesive manufacturing facilities.

· Drive sourcing – identify alternate suppliers and work closely with technical department to qualify alternate and new materials in product formulations.

· Develop chemical commodity sourcing strategies to address supply market condition, product needs, forecasts and technology roadmaps.

· Lead the identification, screening and sourcing of various suppliers of diverse raw materials to establish a supply base in support of the production of adhesives.

· Manage domestic inventory using Just-In-Time and other techniques to support overall product line distribution.

· Manage, develop and lead the purchasing team in a united multi-location environment to achieve domestic supply chain effectiveness.

· Support manufacturing operations through involvement in strategic planning, changes in customer and product requirements, reduction in lead-times, vendor on-time deliveries, and by staying current on industry changes.

· Drive customer service performance levels (fill rates, on time shipments, etc.) through management of materials team, vendors, inventory, new product introductions, and sales promotions.

· Participate with marketing and product management in the development and introduction of new products. Conduct special purchases to support promotions.

· Develop, implement and maintain departmental performance measurements.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

 

Education: BS in Business Administration, Communications or related field

 

Experience:  

· Must have a minimum of 5 - 7 years of related experience in sourcing, procurement, vendor and inventory management in manufacturing and distribution environments, team management, and organization analysis

 

· Multi-plant and Chemical/Polymer/Plastics/Packaging commodity management experience

 

· Professional certification from APICS (CPIM, CFPIM) preferred.

 

· Strong Computer skills, including ERP, DRP, MRP and MPS

 

· Strong verbal, written, analytical negotiating and interpersonal skills

 

· Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines
