QA Team Leader - Sealants & Coatings

Position: Quality Assurance Manager (JS-25-08)

 

Location:  Pittsburgh, Pa

 

Compensation:  $ 65,000 to $ 70,000 [Commensurate with Experience] 

 

Reports Directly To:  Director of QA & R & D

 

Reports Dotted Line: Plant Manager

Is one of the largest manufacturers of activated carbon products in the world.

Responsibilities:

 Responsible for supervision, control and evaluation of the Quality Assurance and Vapor Phase laboratories.Responsible for maintaining adherence to ISO certifications in the laboratory and QA management areas. Conducts or participates in process/plant improvement studies in conjunction with the Production Coordinator.  

·  Responsible for managing product inventories so that no carbons are released prior to preshipment sample approval and that dedicated batches are shipped to correct customers.

·  Responsible for developing and/or changing solution strengths for impregnated carbons.

·  Responsible for quality measurements on spent, regenerated, and pulverized carbons.

·  Responsible for maintaining the continuity and integrity of all products manufactured.

·  Develops blends and recommends disposition of reject inventories.

·  Works in conjunction with other plants to assure that product received from these plants for use meets specifications.

 

Requirements:

 BS in Chemistry or related field3+ years in laboratory management or technical background and activated carbon knowledge preferred.Written and oral skills necessary to communicate with internal and external customers.  Ability to work with minimal supervision.Minimal travel required.
