This position will provide process engineering support for our manufacturing facility located in Orange, Texas.  The position will interface directly with the plant management to operators.

 

Key responsibilities the qualified candidate will provide include:

  Identify and implement process improvement opportunities for Operations area.Support ACP, PRPP, Boiler/Water Treatment, and Packaging/ Warehouse day to day and long term operations.Review daily operations vs. SOP and control plan and make/implement daily recommendations to operate at highest quality/productivity/lowest cost.Run plant experiments and implements change based on experimental results.Ensure that SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) meet PSM requirements.Support Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review processes as needed to ensure safety of process changesWork with Maintenance and Production departments and contractors to achieve plant goals.Participate on cross-functional teamsPromote, participate in, and support Six Sigma and HOS (Honeywell Operating System) cultures.Provide input to the capital planning process.Ensures optimal yield, treating agent consumption, energy cost and quality in assigned area of responsibility.Works with Environmental Leader to ensure operation within operating permits.Participates on plant structured safety team.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

· Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or equivalent required.

· Minimum 3 -5 years chemical engineering experience

  Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)Strong computer skillsStrong English communication skills-both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organizationAble to mange multiple prioritiesDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentStrong interplay of engineering technology and business acumen to bring value to BusinessAbility to analyze complex technical issues and develop engineering solutionsExperience with polyethylene manufacturing technology is a plus.Six Sigma certification preferred
