Process Control Engineer

Job Objective:
Provides hands-on technical support for the automation and process control technology in the production areas of the site. Deals with most day-to-day automation activities.

Essential Functions:
Provide support for installation of new capability: configure new loops, modify screen graphics, commission new instruments.;Basic administration of DCS and PLC systems: Review and resolve system events and incidents;review and resolve solftware malfunctions;clean and restore files;monitor and upkeep of applications;assist in software upgrades; back-up system.;Maintenance of systems: Troubleshoot and replace system hardware;select and acquire parts and tools necessary to deliver scope of work.;Optimization of processes and systems: monitor and tune control loops;monitor and minimize number of alarms;optimize control
schemas.;Support for the design of new capabilities: front-end engineering for appropriate small projects and large-scale studies.

Education / Qualifications:
BSChE preferred, BSME or BSEE
5+ years combined process engineering and controls engineering in a plant environment.
Process engineering experience in a plant environment.
Process control theory and practice.
Basices of project management and implementation skills.
Knowledge of sensors, actuators and all instrumentation components of the technology.
Distributed Control Systems (Honeywell TDC and Experion PKS preferred but not required).
Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley and Modicon preferred but not required).
Human Machine interfaces (Programming using Control/View or RSView preferred but not required).
