Process/Application Engineer
Our Client an Oil and Gas Processing Equipment manufacture is seeking an Engineer with the following qualifications. Our client has been in business since 1964 and has continued to increase their domestic market share.
Perquisites:BS in Mechanical or Chemical EngineeringExperience in Oil and Gas Processing Equipment and related design software preferred
Responsibilities:
a. Design of Natural Gas Processing Systems, including: separation, dehydration, sweetening, mechanical refrigeration, J-T Plants, liquid stabilization, fractionation, absorption, compression, heating, cooling, and combustion. An Engineer is expected to learn how to use the Promax process simulation program to aid in designing various systems.
b. Specific equipment designs for: 2&3 phase separators, indirect heaters, absorption columns, reboilers, shell & tube heat exchangers, fractionation columns, and natural draft combustors.
c. Design of crude oil processing systems and equipment, including: crude oil emulsion treaters and free water knockouts.
d. Applications Engineering for buy-net equipment such as: pumps, air cooled exchangers, valves, instrumentation, direct fired heaters, etc.
e. Gaining an understanding of the environmental concerns associated with our industry which includes VOC and BTEX emissions.
The Engineer should have a good working knowledge of Bills of Materials, drafting standards, vessels and P & ID’s. In addition, an understanding of an MRP system.
As part of the Engineering staff, it is required to learn the mechanical aspects of our equipment and all aspects of process design. Principal among these skills will be a working knowledge of the ASME code Section VIII, Div. I., ASME piping codes, TEMA heat exchanger standards, welding procedures/codes and become familiar with mechanical design calculations using ASME pressure vessel software, Compress.
An Engineer will be expected to learn thermal rating techniques for shell & tube heat exchangers and air cooled exchangers. HTRI heat exchanger design software which the engineer needs to become proficient. For inquiries that are received for shell & tube heat exchangers and air cooled exchangers, it will be the responsibility of the Engineer to determine the thermal design for our proposal. The Engineer will work closely with the estimating department to determine the cost of the proposed equipment.
As a part of the Engineering staff the engineer will attend weekly quote meeting and be prepared to discuss the status of any projects/quotes.
As a key employee, the Engineer is instructed to learn other aspects of our business including: start-up & operating techniques (work with the Service Manager and Field Personnel), quotation preparation, customer relations and sales.
