Petrophysicist

We are seeking candidate for a company located in Houston, Texas with a primary mission to acquire, exploit and develop high quality producing and non-producing shale-gas properties in selected basins in North America.Responsibilities include:Generate & develop characterization techniques throughout the company for target formationsDevelop new shale specific methods to compute TOC, porosity, original gas-in-place, fluid seal locations, mineralogy, and fracture barriers using well log, cuttings and /or core dataProvide key input into exploration and development decisionsIdentify logging acquisition parameters and provide interpretations for operated and outside operated wellsWork on interpretations using available core/rock, production, log, and seismic dataUnderstand how other disciplines are utilized to solve subsurface problems and direct teams to the best options to solve subsurface geology and engineering issuesLiaise with partners and service providers to ensure reliable formation evaluationHelp others within company to make full use of well log data and to make better decisions about gas-in-place and reservoir qualityBe aware and continue to learn of industry petrophysical advances and incorporate them into best practicesExperience required: Unconventional shale reservoir experience10 years experience in the industryProficient in Geographix, Access, Word and PowerpointComprehensive benefits package includes: 401K plan, medical, dental, and life insurance.
