PROJECT MANAGER/ENGINEER - chemical processes

PROJECT MANAGER/ENGINEER for chemical processes.  Ideal candidate must come out of
a chemical plant. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

....Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (desirable but not essential)
....Experience/knowledge in project management of chemical process units
....Experience in project management / startups of major projects
....10 or more years in the chemical processing industry in project engineering/project management
....Experience must be in chemical processing & include unit operations such as reaction, heat transfer,
solid/liquid separation (centrifuges, filters, etc.), drying, packaging & liquid & solid storage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
....Position is Lead Project Engineer/Project Manager for the company
....Develop basic & detailed designs, perform cost estimation, develop funds requests, supervise
safe project execution to completion for a variety of projects in the company primarily in 4 sites in
North America
....Develop feasibility studies for conceptual projects including cost estimates & conceptual design
....Recommend improvements to engineering systems & procedures for all company sites
....Incumbent is a project engineering resource responsible for the safe, cost effective, & timely
installation of projects at all company operating sites
....Develop basic designs from pilot or plant data - capital cost estimates - layouts - P&IDs - and other
more detailed engineering documents
....Ensure all regulatory / EHSA requirements are met during all phases of the project
....Will particpate in process hazard analysis of projects prior to completion of the design and ensure
that designs meet applicable codes & standards, maintaining cost control of process designs while
meeting the design intent from a safety & production standpoint.
....Evaluate alternatives which provide benefit to the cost, safety or operability of new & existing units
....Assist plant engineers in preparing & submitting applications for approval of capital funds, working
closely with operations, maintenance & other project personnel to achieve desired results
....Incumbent will be the company contact supervising contract engineering where appropriate
....As needed, incumbent will also supervise field construction personnel on company projects
....Will work in a team based environment with site management, production supervision, site engineers,
SHE, operations & maintenance personnel
....Will work with engineering contractors & field construction contractors as needed to provide
completed projects with comprehensive design, process safety & operability within schedule & budget
constraints

SALARY RANGE:  $70,000 to $90,000
