THE POSITION

The Process Engineer’s main responsibility is to support manufacturing and trouble-shoot coating operations.  The company just completed a significant upgrade to a primary hot melt coater and the process engineer will be responsible for optimizing this coater.  Reporting to the Production manager and the Plant Manager, this individual will recommend improved processes, procedures, and materials which will enhance the efficiency of manufacture and quality of company products.  In addition, the Engineer will creatively explore new avenues to optimize quality and quantity output. 

 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

The Process Engineer should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment related to “webâ€� coating of pressure-sensitive materials, especially hot melts.  Specific experience with various types of mixing and coating equipment, drying equipment, and products used in the manufacture of pressure sensitive materials, as well as safety/environmental regulations pertaining to the coating industry is required.  This Engineer should have demonstrated work and leadership characteristics required to achieve success in a multi-faceted manufacturing environment.  Additional qualifications include:

¨  Knowledge of hot melt coating

¨  Knowledge of quality processes

¨  Proven talents in written/verbal communications

¨  Problem-solving skills

¨  Experience with new product scale-up

¨  Knowledge of environmental compliance

¨  Experience working with outside vendors

¨  Understanding and experience with lean and Six Sigma practices

 

COMPENSATION

Our client offers an attractive base salary is dependent upon experience.  In addition, the company offers a complete benefits package including company-matching 401(k) and additional company contributions for retirement.
