PLANT MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT/ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, LLC is a leading manufacturer of magnesia-based products serving the water treatment, pulp and paper, utilities, specialty glass, plastics, and agricultural markets.

 

We are currently seeking a Plant Maintenance Superintendent to work at our manufacturing site in Manistee, MI.  The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and directing the efforts of the electrical and mechanical maintenance departments in achieving effective, preventative and continuous improvement of maintenance and repair systems.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  Manage the maintenance and repair of all major plant equipment and facilities. Supervise and provide leadership for maintenance foremen and their staffs. Develop and manage training requirements for electrical and mechanical personnel. Manage the preventative and predictive maintenance systems, measuring and improving their effectiveness. Assist with capital projects as needed.

 Job Requirements:

  Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline. 4 – 8 Years experience in a progressive maintenance environment. Experience with equipment repairs such as:  3 phase high voltage power distribution, MCC, PLC, VFD, electric motors, pumps, compressors, pneumatic, and combustion systems. Proven track record of developing an effective plant maintenance program. Ability to establish goals and set plant-wide priorities. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication and leadership skills. Supervision in a union environment is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

 

 

This position reports to the Manistee Plant Manager.
